Welcome, 2012!

Welcome back in 2012! I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday season, I know we did! This year we're really ramping up our blog, more posts, more photos, AND contests!

First, I (Jenn) want to first thank everyone who was a client in 2011. MSP had the pleasure of working with so many amazing couples, families and children, it just warms my heart! My goal for 2012 is to not only add to that amazing group of people but to reward those for their continue support. So, on that note, we're going to throw a contest for our 2011 clients. Send us your favorite photo from your shoot with us (can be family or child portraits, weddings or other) and a small tidbit about your experience working with us. We'll do a blog post at the end of January with your entries and have people vote for your entry to be MVP (Most Voted Photograph) of 2011. They will have till the end of Feb to vote and the winner will receive a free photography session. That's FREE! So get choosing, get submitting and tell all your friends and family to VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!

Second, we're really looking to ramp up our blog this year with more posts, more photographs and more contests like the one above. We'll also be posting from time to time tips and reviews on techniques we use or products we've tried. So if you're interested in photography and have something you're wondering about or want to hear our take on it, please email us and we'll see about doing a blog post on that subject or product (if we've used it!).

Third, we're starting to add to our lineup of awesome products we will offer in the latter part of 2012 and into 2013. If there is a something you think you'd like to see as an option from us for your sessions, we'd love to hear about it. Send us an email or give us a call, we'll see what we can cook up for you!

Once again, thank you to everyone who has been a supporter of Moments Shared Photography. We love what we do and when we have happy clients, we know we've done what we love well. We look forward to more happy MSP clients as the year goes on!

Aiden + Westley { 4 Months }

Westley and Aiden came into our studio recently for their four month shoot. How cute are they! It's amazing how at a mere four months these two have such distinct personalities. I've also ever seen such resolve NOT to smile during a shoot! We did end up with a few cute smiles during the shoot and a whole bunch when they were buckled into their car seats to go home. Figures, right?

New Album Designs

Hello everyone! I've been hard at work these past few days designing over 100 new album templates for our 2011 brides. I'm so excited! Not only do I love designing albums but it makes me so proud that all of our templates are designed by us just for you. I put together a family session in our new templates so you can get a taste of our new rounded corner, retro design. This fits with just about every type of session!

We've also got the standard square corners as well, but I'll save those for another blog. Hope you enjoyed them!

Chanda + Lee {Wedding}

Chanda and Lee, who married on October 9, 2010, were probably one of the most fun couples we've ever photographed. I love it when a client says "We trust you" and then lets the creativity flow. I get choked up at almost every wedding we photograph, watching the couple and their families unite for this very special day. I had the pleasure of meeting Chanda's mother when they met me for our initial consult. Right away I could tell that there was so much love in this family, and that I hoped I could really bring out that feeling that the day of the wedding.

Kelley + Justin {Wedding}

My cousin Justin married his high school sweetheart Kelley over Labor Day weekend of 2010 and I'm just now getting their blog post up! I have to admit it does help to know the bride and groom as well as I know these too, makes for a comfort level that allowed me to push them a bit with their photography. It did help that Kelley was "all about the artistic shots" and left us ample time to experiment.

We started off the day at an the amazing Christensen's Rock Garden just outside of Albert Lea. Tended by a private residence, this was the perfect blend of nature and fairytale that made their first look photos so special. After shooting some amazing setups, we moved to the ceremony/reception site, Wedgewood Cove Golf Course. Overlooking the lake, the ceremony site as breezy, the perfect temperature and had a plethora of interesting backgrounds to choose from.

The ceremony was beautiful, the reception was a blast, complete with our signature photo booth, Photo-Booth-On-A-Stick. Everyone had a great time using the mustaches that Kelley made by hand and laughed till we cried! There were so many wonderful photos I could hardly choose what to post!

Going back to last year, I second-shot for a friend of mine Scott Bacon (Scott Bacon Photography) down in Rochester, MN on 9-4-10. Highschool sweethearts, these two were so adorable and it was easy to see that they were perfect for each other.

Natalie + Matthew {Wedding}

I had the pleasure of second shooting Natalie and Matt's Valentine's weekend wedding with my friend Donae of Donae Cotton Photography. They were a delightful couple and a complete joy to photograph. Enjoy!
